ATTEND:

Hopscotch Music Festival, September 10-12

Downtown Raleigh will be hosting the Hopscotch Music Festival this weekend!  It will be the sixth year that Raleigh has been the home of this fan-favorite and nationally acclaimed creative festival with everything from vendors, music and day parties. I'll be stopping by on September 12th to help in the Good Heaven's Confections booth, my sister's gourmet marshmallow making business. I was raised in North-Carolina, and even I had no idea that such an event was held right here in my hometown! So stop by and see me at the Good Heavens Confections booth, grab one of my sister's delicious marshmallows and enjoy experiencing everything creative that you could possibly imagine! Hope to see you there!

You can get all the info you need on Hopscotch here, as well as on their Facebook page.

EAT:

American Meltdown, Raleigh-Durham, Chapel Hill

After seeing their food truck parked at North Hills on Saturday mornings and so badly wanting to try it, I was finally able to try the American Meltdown food truck while at at the LOMO market in Durham. Needless to say, I'm obsessed. My sister ordered their fried brussels sprouts with a light garlic aioli, which were TO DIE FOR, while I tried their Pigs n' Figs hot sandwich. Black mission figs... local goat cheese... speck, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar... I'm drooling all over again. All those things put together equal pure happiness. I can't wait to try everything else on their menu and write about it. Stay tuned, you'll see it all right here.

You can view their website with their entire menu here.

My dear sister Linley, started her own business making homemade gourmet marshmallows a few years back (#girlbosses am I right?!). She's catered weddings, served her "marshies" at birthday parties, and gone to markets. As I said earlier, she will have a booth at Hopscotch this weekend! My favorites are her Dulce de Leche and her Pumpkin, oh - and her Coffee... but that should be a given. Not only is she a maker of sweets, my sister is genuinely the sweetest person you'll ever met. You can't help but love her and her fluffy treats. You can follow her personal account at @lndb and her business account at @goodheavensconfections. I know I'm biased, but she's the best! Be sure to stop by and see us on Saturday at Hopscotch!

You can view her website here, and follow her on Instagram here.
