God Bless New York, and my Sister

I had the honor of being invited to New York City last week to attend Reiss' Press Day for their Spring and Summer Collection. To make the most of our time in the city, I flew up a day early with my sister who had never been to New York. Over the past year especially, I have pressed her to visit the city that I hope to one day call home and figured that this opportunity was the best way for her to see all of New York.

I first fell in love with Reiss when I was travelling with my sister to Italy and Greece back in high school. If you have ever traveled to Europe, you have most likely experienced the grandiose and mega-sized airport of Heathrow in West London. We had a few hours before our next flight and decided to stop into Heathrow's Harrods (yes, Harrods in an airport - this is why you bring an extra luggage to Europe) and see what else we might discover in this London mini-city.

Every time we are seen together, my sister and I are asked if we are twins. Although we look alike, our personal styles are more than distinct from each other's. Linley is elegant and classic, and has always been a fan of black and white long before the Kardashians made it cool. I, on the other hand, didn't even own a simple white t-shirt and always had to ask to borrow hers. We were both drawn to architectural pieces but I had them in every pattern, color and texture, while her closet was a sea of neutrals. I was outspoken in my fashion choices, and Linley always played it safe. We complimented each other well and benefited from the fact that we had two closets to dress from. So here we were, extreme-left and extreme-right, walking through airport heaven when the two of us abruptly met, perfectly centered underneath a large white-lit logo with capitalized letters which read: Reiss. Immediately I saw both me and my sister combined: simple silhouettes, gorgeous patterns, architectural structures, textures, classics, feminine colors, and playful details. It was the two of us, wrapped up into one beautifully hidden package beneath Harrods and departing planes.

Reiss holds a nostalgia between me and my sister like no other brand ever has. Even though I haven't had an opportunity to purchase their clothes, I have long appreciated their design and their quality because it reminds me of the relationship between me and my sister. Being able to experience their Collection Preview with her at my side made the experience so memorable and the fresh designs only made it better.

If you haven't already, check out Reiss and see the glory for yourself. I cannot thank the Reiss team enough for their friendliness and hospitality, and I cannot wait for the unveiling of the collection in the Spring so that I can get my hands on all of the pieces!

Enjoy a brief look into my trip through my Instagram photo diary...
