At Home at The Dartmouth

I wasn't born in Raleigh, but I have spent the majority of my life in this city. Needless to say, it has been surreal watching my hometown grow into a mini-metropolis and see it nationally ranked as one of the top 10 places to live. Raleigh used to feel so small to me, and there are times when it still does. It feels small when I drive around and see that there isn't one area of this city that I haven’t visited or that I'm unfamiliar with. My friends often joke that I know all the shortcuts and back roads to get anywhere - but that's just what you do when you love something. You get to know it.

The place I feel most at home is midtown and ironically enough, it’s the place in Raleigh that has experienced the most growth. With the on-going revitalization of North Hills, new retail spaces, offices, restaurants, hotels and apartment complexes have attracted so many new faces to Raleigh and opened the door to new residents. The Dartmouth, a luxury apartment complex, is one of the newest residential buildings at North Hills. Earlier this year, I was asked to take a tour of the space so I could share a few pictures on social media. After a quick walk-through, I realized The Dartmouth deserved more than just a few Instagram photos. I decided to pull together some of my favorite North Hills vendors to create a week-long series about my favorite spot in Raleigh. The Dartmouth was gracious enough to give me access to the space for an entire day, and I am so excited to finally share with my Raleigh readers!

The Dartmouth is vibrant and creative, and I was blown away at the interior design. This studio apartment was so thoughtfully planned out that every inch of the space was utilized. From the gold metal accents to marble top tables to customized pieces of furniture, no detail went unnoticed and every aspect was stunning. Everywhere I looked I saw something beautiful. So often new apartments feel sterile and cold but I felt right at home and cozied up in the luxurious velvet couch with my coffee.

I’ll be sharing two other spaces from The Dartmouth this week, so make sure you come back on Wednesday to see the next space! I’m also giving away a $50 North Hills gift card on my Instagram, so if you would like to enter the giveaway, follow these simple guidelines. The winner will be announced on Friday at 5pm EST! Good luck!
